Dr Jo Thompson Coon, PHIRST-EMPower Evidence Synthesis Lead

Jo is the Evidence Synthesis Lead for NIHR PHIRST EMPower.

She is Professor of Evidence Synthesis and Health Policy at the University of Exeter.

Her research spans a wide array of public health-related topics, including:

• the impact of natural environments on wellbeing
• the health benefits of volunteering
• interventions for dementia care.

She has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, many of which have informed policy and practice.

She is passionate about making evidence accessible and actionable and enjoys working with colleagues across disciplines to tackle complex health challenges.
